Team Project Instructions

Teamwork is required in CTS115 to prepare students for team demands in the IT work

environment. The following are established instructions to protect all team members.

Instruction 1:

Start Early. There is one team project that encompasses information learned in this class. Begin working on the project as soon as it is available to avoid last-minute issues. (See Instruction 6 for the actual project information)

Instruction 2: Team leader. The class should elect a team leader. The team leader is responsible

for:

Scheduling team meetings

Leading team meetings

Assigning tasks

 Submitting the team project

Instruction 3: Team Member Responsibilities.

It is the responsibility of every team member(not just the Team Leader) to review the deliverables before they are submitted making sure everything is there, file names are correct and the quality is acceptable.

This means setting deadlines early enough for the review and editing

of the documents.

Your team will create your project using

Google Docs or MS Word.

The completed project should be submitted by the Team Leader.

Instruction 4: Peer Evaluation Form. You will be evaluated by your peers to assess your

participation in the team project. Each student will complete a

Peer Evaluation form that will be submitted in Brightspace. Each individual student is responsible for uploading their own form.

Each team member must evaluate themselves and all the other members of the team. Team members are responsible for giving accurate evaluations. This means being aware of what tasks have been assigned and to whom and whether or not the task was successfully completed. Students not participating should receive 0s. Students giving scores to students not participating will receive a 0 for the peer evaluation grade.

Instruction 5: Team Dynamics.

If any team member does not respond to team emails or

participate in teamwork, then each team member should note that on their Peer Evaluation form. Non-participating team members will receive 0’s for the assignment. The active team members will still be responsible for fully completing the team assignments.

Do not contact your instructor to complain about fellow team members.

Instead, work among yourselves to deal with the situation. Non-participating team members will not receive credit for any work done, but you must continue to make efforts to include them in your meetings.

Instruction 6: Team Project. Using the concepts learned in this course, you will decide on a business idea and use web technology to enhance the business venture. The completed project should include the following information:

Page 1 - Title page:

 list all Team Members.

Page 2:

Identify a Business Idea and explain the product.

Page 3:

Review Porter's Five Forces Model (Chapter 1): Understanding

the Business Environment. Use at least one force in the design of the

business idea website and describe how the website addresses that force.

Page 4:

Create a website storyboard (not an actual web page, as if you

took a screenshot of a web page) that will advertise the Business Idea.

Please note:

A web storyboard is a design tool used in Web design. It is

not an actual site. You will not save the document as a html file but as a doc file. links and images are not active but should be included in the

design. The team should review sample Web storyboards on the Web.

to review how to create an advertisement.

Save the project as:

Team# Website (example: Team1Website) and upload to Brightspace
